Well we are back from our mini-vacation to St. Lucia. Patrick and I attended a friends wedding at the Sandals resort. The wedding was beautiful, but the resort left some things to be desired for like good service. All in all it was nice to get away just the two of us. We were able to focus on each other.

While we were basking in the sun, the boys were receiving excellent care from their omi and grandma. Their days were filled with one on one attention, lots of walks, playtime and visitors. It was hard leaving them and I couldn't wait to get home to see them. I swear they grew an inch while I was gone. There have been some rumors that both of them can roll over from stomach to back and back to stomach. While we have only witnessed stomach to back, it is only a matter of time before they are all over the place. Rowan was trying to pull himself across the play mat the other day, but the poor kid had no traction.

Odds and Ends

The boys are doing great. Kieran can now roll over on to his back from his tummy. He is so cute doing it. They are starting to get the hang of this nap schedule. It seems they alternate which nap they like to take. Usually Rowan goes down better in the morning and Kieran sleep longer in the afternoon. But hey I'll take anything that involves them sleeping for more than 10 minutes simultaneously.

There's also a new bully among them, can you tell who it is?

I fed the boys peas for the first time yesterday. Rowan was so cute, he opens his mouth wide and sucks them down. Kieran hasn't quite mastered the eating portion of the meal. What can I expect, it took him so long to master the bottle and he still has a hard time sometimes.

They are interacting more each day. This morning Kieran thought Rowan was so funny. He was belly laughing at him while they were playing on the floor.

Happy Father's Day

Patrick celebrated his first Father's Day by being able to sleep till 9 am. This is such a luxury in this house. We then headed out to his parents house for a relaxing day. Too Bad it was a little to chilly to go in the pool. It seemed both boys really enjoyed it last time.

Schedule, I NEED a Schedule!

After last weeks no sleep week I have decided to create a schedule at all costs. Even if it means I don't leave the house for a month!. We are on day two of operation schedule. My goal is to have them on 3 solid naps a day. Both boys have obviously had a hard time adjusting to this, but I can already see the changes are doing wonders to their personalities. It was so nice yesterday to have them BOTH sleeping at the same time. I felt like a new person, who was actually showered.

Kieran woke first today, weird I know. We changed Rowans acid reflux medicine and it seems to have really worked. He didn't wake at 5am and vomit all over his crib for the first time in months! Kieran and I had some alone time for about 1/2 hour before Rowan woke. All three of us hung out on the floor. The boys are getting so good at grabbing toys. Of course they put everything into their mouth. Each one tries to roll over now, but hasn't quit gotten it yet. After the reflux medicine and a mini bottle it was off to bed. It took them 30-40 minutes to settle down but they did take a 30 minute nap. Next up breakfast and hopefully a longer nap!

Sleep, Overrated!

It's been a sleepless week. It seems either Rowan or Kieran have had us up each night this week. It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't insist on getting up at 5 am and not napping at the same time. I just keep telling myself the sleepless nights will end, maybe not soon but they will end. At my darkest hours I remind myself their are women with triples or more out there, god bless them.

We have had a few first this week. Both boys experienced the pool for the first time. Rowan was so good, Patrick took him for a ride around the pool. I was so surprised since the water was frigid. Kieran liked it for a little bit, but was quick to tell us when he had enough.

They have warmed up to their exersaucer. It's cute to watch them try and touch the toys. This past Sunday Kieran almost rolled over. He was pretty much over, but he can't seem to move his arm out of the way. We also think he is teething, since he shoves his fist into his mouth like a maniac and screeches at the top of his lungs all day long.

Typical Nap Time

For the past few weeks the boys have refused to sleep at the same time. This makes for a LONG day.

And He Laughs...

As many of you know I was very worried about Kieran not reaching his milestones like Rowan was. Well he proved me wrong today. After a fun filled day with many visitors, the boys were winding down in the living room with my mom and dad. My mother loves to get both boys going. Kieran surprised us all.

We had such a nice day today. The boys did great with all the visitors that were in and out. Veronica and her brood stopped by in the morning on their way back down to Maryland. Her parents were so wonderful to bring us the exersaucer that she no longer uses. Rowan took to it right away. He was looking at all the stuff and actually trying to touch it. Andrew (Vern's little boy) had the gate my father just put up open in a flash. It was good, now we know we have to modify it for next summer. By mid morning, Pat, Monica, Vinny and Matthew stopped by to visit. It was so nice to have lots of hands to rock and play with the little guys. Anna and Richie made an appearance, Rowan has a fondness for them. I think he likes Richie's beard. Laurie showed up with her three kids and we had a glimpse into the future. The living room was packed with kids and toys, it was so nice to see how it's going to be this time next year. Laurie brought us some of her toys as well, creating a nice little stash for them. All in all it was a wonderful day.
