Sleepy Boys

How cute are those little feet? Yesterday the boys had a no nap kind of day. By 5:30 you would have thought the world was ending in this house. Each little guy was beyond miserable. So we had early baths and then bottles. Rowan fell asleep before his head hit the crib. Kieran wasn't too far behind..

7 month Checkup and a County Fair

Lets start with the all important growth facts. At the boys 7 month checkup they boasted some pretty big numbers.
Rowan
Weight 20 pounds 2 ounce
Height 28 1/4 inches
Kieran
Weight 18 pounds 1 ounce
Height 28 inches
The doctor was very pleased with their growth. Which makes me happy since they were so small when we brought them home.
In other news, we went to the Dutchess County Fair this weekend with my parents. Rowan and Kieran did great. We were there pretty much the whole day. Both boys were fascinated by the animals, although Rowan didn't like it when a sheep bahh'd at him. I'll post pictures as soon as I can get the card reader to work again.

The Boy and His Toys

Kieran has become an expert toy hoarder. He some how rounded up all the toys on the floor and stored them behind his back. Very cute, but poor Rowan was left with a toy plane that was just out of Kieran's grasp.

Rowan is getting good at sitting. He is also very fond of himself, he he.

Boys Being Boys

Just a few shots of the boys, well being boys. They have grown very fond of each others head. I'll come in the room sometimes and find them taking turns touching the others head. There has been a lot of toy grabbing lately. I gave Kieran a sippy cup the other night and Rowan was very quick to take it from him and start to drink.

Somehow Rowan got himself half under the couch in less than a minute the other day. The fun has just begun

Lost Toy:(

We lost our first toy today at the store. Apparently Kieran threw it out of the stroller when I wasn't looking. I can't believe we lost it. Once I realized it was gone I quickly did a search of the entire store but had no luck. I'm kinda bummed since it was one of the favorites. I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later.

The little guys are getting so good at grabbing things. They are newly fascinated with the mobiles in their cribs. I walked in today and found Rowan with half the mobile in his mouth. Guess it is time to give them up.

I guess I shouldn't be to upset about the lost toy, it seems Kieran only wants to play with the burp cloth. Rowan would be content grabbing Kieran all day long. He loves to look and laugh at him.

Swinging Along

To keep in the theme of "Two of Everything", we just put up two new baby swings for the boys. Having searched high and low. Apparently August is Out Of Season for a swing purchase, my mother found two at her BRU. What a lucky find I might add. We had everyone under the sun looking for these swings, I thank all of you who tried to find them for us. My father just hung them up on our only tree that could accommodate them. Boy did Kieran and Rowan like them. They took their maiden swing after lunch. Rowan already christened his with vomit, I guess that one is his. I can see many hours of fun in the future.

Friendly BBQ

This past Saturday we hosted a BBQ for Patrick's college friends and their significant others. The boys had a great time. Rowan of course was the jolly baby right off the bat. Although he did seem to throw up on everyone at the party, sorry about that. Kieran was his usual timid self, finally warming up after some time. Thank you Natalie, Amy and Cristina for occupying my little guys while I organized the food. I love when people are good to my kids. They were so entertained that they zonked out for the night with no problems. I also want to thank Greg and Natalie for the photos of the day. I was so busy I actually forgot to take pictures.

My new favorite website is Freecycle. I just acquired a walker. We had purchased one, but I was feeling bad about only having one. It was so sad to see one boy pushing himself around the kitchen while the other had to sit in their high chair waiting for me. The walker I got off freecycle was nicer than the one we bought. Now I'm on the lookout for a little tike's swing/play hut thing for next summer.

Congratulations Uncle Mike and Aunt Kelly

A big congrats goes out to Uncle Mike and Aunt Kelly. Their wedding at the Port Jefferson Country Club was beautiful and the food tasty. Aunt Kelly was a gorgeous bride. The boys made a brief appearance for some family photos. Surprisingly they behaved very well, since it was their nap/ dinner time. Then they were quickly whisked home by my mom. Thanks mom for watching them so Patrick and I could enjoy the evening out.

The little guys are getting so good at picking up toys and even make minor attempts to crawl. I got an email the other day that told me most babies crawl at 6 months. 6 Months are you crazy, I thought more along the lines of 8-10 months. Lets hope they hold out for a little while longer.

We gave the boys sippy cups for the first time, just so they could get used to them. By the second day Kieran was an expert. We were coming in from the car after a walk in the park and I placed the sippy cup between his legs to bring it in. He put one hand on the handle and then the other. Kieran actually picked it up and brought it to his mouth to drink. It was so cute, he looked like a big boy. Now he gets excited every time he sees it. Rowan usually sucks the wrong end, but he can pick it up with one hand, my little Hercules. (have to get photo today, camera ran out of battery)
