Happy Birthday Grandma and Warm Weather

The boys helped Grandma Casey celebrate her birthday today by throwing her a party. Aunt Kate brought Rowan and Kieran a present that freaked me out, but they seemed to like them.

A few days ago we took advantage of the nice weather outside and let the boys wander in the grass, ride in their cars and explore the little castle that I found on the side of the road last year. Rowan liked to rip the leaves in half and Kieran was just interested in everything. I can see them climbing and running through the grass this spring.

We have many fights over the broom in the house. Usually one of the boys wants to help us sweep. Pat has tried several times to teach them the proper technique but they still just seem interested in dragging it around everywhere. We bought them a mop in their size, which has seemed to help a little. Now one drags the mop around and the other drags the broom.

They are also learning to share their car. It's cute to see them both get in it, but not so cute when the one on the inside wants to get out!

First Haircut

Today was the BIG day, Rowan and Kieran got their first haircuts. I should say, Rowan got his first haircut. After him, the barber seemed pretty nervous to do Kieran so we decided to wait on his. He did get one strand of hair cut but not the whole head. Aunt Kate shared the experience with us, she was a great help in holding and entertaining Kieran, while Rowan got the longest haircut ever. Rowan was all over the place, eating about 5 lollipops (he kept dropping them on the floor) and making the barber very nervous. Next time I think we will go to one of those kiddie places.

Oh What a Night

Last night was bath night and unfortunately Patrick wasn't home. Some people love giving their children baths, I on the other hand would love if they could just take showers (on their own). With Patrick not home it makes the process of giving a bath to the two of them that much harder. They still sit in their bath seats, but I can't help but be nervous about two little boys who don't understand no and water. The combo just doesn't amount to fun to me. Last night was no exception. After a particularly long day, think 1 hour nap all day, Kieran and Rowan were finally in the water playing with their new bubble machine. All was fine until Rowan decided he was going to try and drink some of the water. This of course caused him to gage and cough. The next thing you know he is vomiting in the tub, GROSS. Kieran makes a quick exit from the tub while I hit the knob to empty the tub. After he is barely dried off, I place him in the living room with no cloths. Rowan is still vomiting all over his toys in an empty tub. I pick him up and turn on the shower, under the water he went along with half of me. I dry him and off to the living room he goes, naked. Then the process of trying to get all the toys out of the tub while not vomiting myself ensues. After cleaning everything, toys in the washing machine, I head to the living room. Where they are playing so nicely until Rowan decides he is going to pee all over the floor. At this point all I could do was laugh and get the camera....
