Warm Weather Fun

The best part of warm weather is eating outside. I love it!! The boys can eat their breakfast, lunch and dinner on the deck. Afterwards all I have to do is sweep it off. No more nasty high chairs, food all over the floor/walls and unhappy boys looking for a quick escape. Of course letting them play outside is pretty great too. They love being out on the deck, enjoying the sunshine.

Kieran loves to drink from big kid cups, so we have been practicing on the deck. He is fascinated with actual water bottles.

This past weekend my mother and I took the boys to the aquarium for the first time. Rowan loved everything about it. At one point he wanted to swim with the sharks. He fed his entire rice cake to the fish in a pond and insisted on touching everything from sting rays to crabs. Kieran was a little more timid, he was more comfortable in the stroller looking around.

Happy Easter and a 1st Haircut

We enjoyed a relaxing Easter upstate at my parents house. Uncle Alex and Aunt Sha Sha flew in a few days before to celebrate with us. Rowan and Kieran had fun, looking for their baskets a few days before Easter. We now know they LOVE chocolate, apparently they left behind some chocolaty fingerprints as evidence. We have a few highlights of the weekend, and I quote "I like Skulls" and "I kissed a girl...." Thanks Alex for pointing those out:) I must give credit to Shannon for all the great photos she took. Once again she has proven herself a master with the camera. Love the shots, thank you...

Kieran had his first haircut the Saturday before Easter. We took him to one of those kid salons, thank god for that. He SCREAMED the entire time. I'm pretty sure a regular barber would have freaked out, but this lady acted as if it was totally normal. The haircut from the barber was better, but what can you say when your kid is a screaming mess.

Rowan also got his second haircut, and as you can see he is an old pro.

Twin Egg Hunt

I got this crazy idea to volunteer to host the egg hunt for my twin group. Patrick thought I was out of my mind and after everyone RSVP'd I agreed with him. I am proud to say that it turned out great. There were so many mom's and kids but they had a great time playing on all the outdoor toys and hunting for eggs. It actually snowed towards the end but we just moved the party indoors. Once again the playroom saved the day! Rowan and Kieran loved picking up the eggs and then putting them back down. Kieran actually walked around for quite some time just shaking two eggs. Rowan opened a few, pulled out the stuff and then decided he was going to eat the rocks on the ground instead. I'm exhausted, but so glad I hosted it. We now know I can host a playdate with the two of them.

Land of Sick Kids

We have been living in the land of stuffy, runny noses, flying snot, croupy coughs, ear infections and all night wakings. Not a happy place to be when they boys seem to be passing it back and forth for about a month now. I'm looking forward to spring, opening the windows and saying bye bye to germs... Rowan and Kieran were super cute the other week, when both of them were not feeling well and decided to take a play break together on the kitchen floor with their blankets.

Aunt Sha Sha and Uncle Alex sent the boys some summer shoes. They now own their first pair of Crocs and look so darn cute wearing them. The best part is they are very light so they actually keep them on their feet. I tried sneakers the other week and both of them refused to walk, just standing in place crying that something other than their shoo shoo's were on their feet.

Climbing, Rowan's new favorite past time. He likes to climb up on chairs now, even tries to answer the phone when it rings. Surprisingly Kieran doesn't do this. He watches Rowan but has no interest in getting on the chairs.

The never ending black eye for Rowan. Kieran gave him one on Friday by punching him in the face and scratching right under his eye. As it was getting better, he somehow (there's much speculation as to how it happened) smacked up his eye again, this time producing a really black knot right under his eye. Poor little guy can't catch a break.
