First Dip of the Summer

The past two weekends have been quite nice weather wise. We have taken advantage of this by letting the boys explore the water. Last weekend we set up the sprinklers for them. Both boys enjoyed this until Patrick turned the water on full blast and poor Rowan was being pelted in the face with the water.

Yesterday was kiddie pool exploration and boy was it a hit. Rowan dove right in, splashing around. He was in and out of the pool for 45 minutes. Kieran erred on the side of caution, he finally warmed up to it about 20 minutes in.

To top off the fun filled weekend, we celebrated the birthdays of Aunt Jo and Uncle Mike with our very first bounce in their bounce house. This was a very cool gift from Uncle Alex and Aunt Sha Sha, which will bring years of bouncing fun. Rowan in all his bravery climbed up the wall to slide down the slide. Kieran was just happy practicing his jumping.

All that jumping sure wore Rowan out, he fell asleep after desert, but not before he finished his flying saucer.

First Cone

We enjoyed this beautiful Memorial Day weekend by spending a majority of it outside. On Sunday all of us headed to Port Jefferson to let the boys play at the park and enjoy some ice cream.
I let them have their first cones. Patrick thought I was crazy and it turns out it was a little messy. Hey that's what wet wipes are for. Kieran first grabbed the ice cream and not the cone, so he wasn't too happy with the coldness of it. It took him some time to actually grab it. Rowan had no problems grabbing the cone, but preferred to eat the end of the cone first and ice cream last.

Afterwards we headed to the beach where the boys explored the water. Kieran had no fear, going in up to his waste. His mood changed though once he put his face in the water to taste it. Guess he doesn't like salt water! Rowan played it a little more mellow on the shoreline, picking up all the rocks.
